Moving Minds sets great store on data analysis. This allows us to:
- track each individual case using standard psychological criteria,
- provide objective outcomes,
- make reliable evidence based treatment recommendations.
Routinely Moving Minds produces interim reports after every four sessions. This usually shows that treatment is proceeding in a satisfactory manner. On the other hand, if there is lack of progress, we can re-examine the case and if necessary terminate the treatment. At the end of a course of treatment Moving Minds generates a discharge report. We supply the result of treatment whether the symptoms have abated or are much improved. We supplement this with entry and exit psychological scores, which usually show movement towards normality over the course of treatment.
Based on analyses of cases to date most clients require about ten sessions of therapy. Three out of four of those who undergo a course of therapy are completely relieved of their symptoms or are significantly improved. Additionally, in a small proportion of cases the process of referral, assesment and treatment appears to facilitate the legal settlement of longstanding cases.
Full details of outcome data can be obtained on a confidential basis by contacting Moving Minds.
The NICE Report
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) has completed their consultation process and reserach survey of the treatment for PTSD. Moving Minds was a stakeholder in this process. The NICE recommendations supported Moving Minds' outcome data. It was recommended that trauma-focused CBT and EMDR be used in treating PTSD. They advised against "Counselling".
