Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational rehabilitation commences when the client is ready to start considering a return to work. The vocational rehabilitation specialist works in tandem with the Moving Minds clinical team and the pain rehabilitation team.
The Assessment
A full report is provided which covers the employment and training history of the client, any current health issues, benefit and financial details as well as current functioning and how it affects employment. The assessment also involves administering questionnaires to work out with the client the most suitable kind of employment for them. This aids in determining current skills and capacity as well as any factors that exclude the client from certain types of employment.
The Programme Goals
The Programme Goals:
- To re-activate the claimant to live as normal a life as possible and to return to some form of employment
- To change their perceptions and beliefs of their condition and its disabling influenceTo find locally available vacancies, assist the client in developing a CV, applying for positions and finding a job.
The job search involves a visit of at least two days as well as a month of regular telephone support thereafter.
