Critical Incident Management and Helplines

A critical incident can be quite a traumatic experience for all involved.  In order to mitigate the aftermath, we offer a range of telephone support services, including trauma helplines, employee wellbeing, and general wellbeing helplines.

Proactive Helpline

Our experienced psychological case coordinators can contact clients, at the discretion of the referrer, to offer assistance and emotional support.  They are on call Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 24/7 by special arrangement.

For clients who find discussing their difficulties on the phone too difficult, we also provide a text (SMS) service.  Case coordinators may also use our text (SMS) service to follow-up with clients.

Reactive Helpline

For clients who find discussing their difficulties on the phone too difficult, we also provide a text (SMS) service.  Case coordinators may also use our text (SMS) service to follow-up with clients.

Psychological case coordinators are also available Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. to accept incoming calls from clients.  Again, for clients who may not feel ready for phone calls, a texting (SMS) service is also available.

Trauma Helplines

Moving Minds also offers trauma helplines that can be used on an ongoing or need-only basis by managers and/or employees.  We also offer packages specifically tailored to the need of an organisation.

Post-incident Trauma Awareness Training

Trauma awareness training can be helpful after a critical incident. Please see the Training section.

In this article published in Post Magazine, Moving Mind’s Dr Manda Holmshaw discusses the right and wrong responses in dealing critical incident debriefing and emotional distress.  Read it here.
